We're really sorry to hear you're not getting on with our product.
Your response is not typical though I understand that doesn't make it any the less valid. Perhaps you pick up on stevia or some other ingredient. Some people are slightly more sensitive to the stevia aftertaste. We actually blend stevia with thaumatin (a natural sweetener from an African fruit) to minimise this effect. Taste is very personal and we all react to flavours differently, some people dislike the bitter flavour but some enjoy it for example. And sweetness is no exception.
Here are a few things you could try to reduce the sweetness:
- The best way we’ve found is to use 1/2 unflavoured protein powder - such as our Pureblend and 1/2 of the flavour you have now. So you’d end up with 1/2 the sweetness and all the protein. This works really well for our customers who want to keep their shakes with maximum protein and moderate sweetness.
- Adding more tart frozen berries and some greens could offset the sweetness and make it more balanced for you.
- If you don’t mind your drink to be a little more diluted, you could try adding 1/2-1 cup more liquid (unsweetened nut milks or water). If you don’t have any nut milks on hand, you could also try adding a spoonful of your favourite nut butter or even a plant-based yogurt.
- Another way to dilute the sweetness is to add a bitter flavour in. If you like chocolate - you could try adding in 1-2 tbsp of raw cacao powder in your shake/smoothie. This works especially well with the Vanilla/Tiramisu. Matcha powder could also work here too!
